Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home

Chen Su Lan Home aims to provide loving, Christian nurture for needy and disadvantaged children of all races and religions, so as to prepare them to be happy and responsible members of the family and community.

TMC's ministry with the Home spans many years. Every Sunday, some of the children come to TMC and here, they spend time with our volunteers reading God's Word, joining in the activities of our Children's Ministry, and simply sharing about their lives outside of the Home environment. The children also go on outings with our volunteers, or meet up with them on a casual basis.

Some of the children who are "graduating" from the Home soon will need rented homes. This is a present priority for us at TMC. Read more about this.

Contact 123

Contact 123 provides free tuition and homework help to students who are in need. It is a safe environment for children to hang out and participate in indoor activities like carrom, board games. They are also provided computer access under a watchful eye.

IT lessons are provided every Saturday to equip senior citizens with basic computer skills. Seniors also walk into the Centre to surf the net and check their emails. There are IT courses running regularly which you can sign up for online.

A free legal clinic is run every Monday evening for the residents in the Serangoon North community by prior registration.

The Centre is a place for fostering friendships and relationships with children, youths and seniors. Outings are organised to places of interest, and festive occasions are also celebrated at the Centre.

Institute of Mental Health

Every last Sunday of the month, TMC ministers to residents of the Institute through the sharing of God's Word and testimonies, and the singing of songs. The residents are given time to express themselves freely; some share through verbal expression, others sing, dance, draw and use other art forms. We exercise and walk with the residents within the Institute's premises, but also take them out occasionally on outings. The residents sometimes join us at TMC for special events.

St Luke's Eldercare Centre

Visitations to SLEC are on the last Thursday of every month, 930 am - 1230 pm.

TMC's ministry to SLEC brings hope, help and the love of Christ to many needy elderly. Our volunteers serve as befrienders, offer direct and indirect spiritual and pastoral care to the elderly people, and provide transport to TMC's worship services. Many of the elderly from SLEC also attend our Yum Cha session (see below).

TMC is in partnership with SLEC and Bless Community Services (Yio Chu Kang Chapel) to raise funds for SLEC.

Yum Cha

Held every 1st Wednesday of the month from 1000 am to 1200 pm with lunch provided, Yum Cha is an opportunity for people to come together for fellowship, and serves as a platform for TMC-ers to meet one another as well as non- Christians in the community mid-week. There will be singing, perhaps a video, and, of course, snacks and tea, and all things to do with relaxing and making friends.

Prison Fellowship

One expression of TMC’s concern for society is support for the Prisons Fellowship Singapore. At Christmas time, the Angel Tree project prepares food hampers for parents and siblings of prison inmates, a special gift for the spouse and toys for the children. TMC has contributed $1,200 towards the project, and the Outreach & Social Concerns (OSC) Committee is committed to participating in the gift delivery to 10 families living in the Serangoon community, bringing a heartfelt message from each inmate to their family.
