Discipleship & Nurture

A disciple first, then a Christian. Jesus calls all believers to follow Him as His Disciples. At TMC, we seek to help each of us answer Jesus’ Call to Discipleship by offering the following platforms for learning and growing as His Disciples.

The Way of Grace

27 Feb - 24 Jul (9 sessions), 2nd and 4th Tuesdays | 10.00am - 12.30pm

“Grace is a gift. Even before we recognize its need in our lives, God extends us favor.”

This 9-week study in the Companions in Christ series explores the Gospel of John and how divine grace is at work in our lives today, just as it was in the lives of biblical characters 2,000 years ago.

Indermark writes … "God's grace comes to us in the distinctive shape of our personal histories, needs, and possibilities … Yet divine grace also reveals the depths of what we share across all boundaries of time and place." More...

If you long to open your heart to a deeper knowing of God's grace — to recognize the "soul's deep compass steering us Godward," this is the study for you.

Jointly facilitated by Mr Philip Khoo, Mr Lee Park Ming, and Pastor Paul. Register at the iSunday Counter or click below.

DISCIPLE III is the third study in the four-phase Disciple program. The driving idea in this study is the connection between memory and identity as the people of God. The word “You” in the title is meant to be heard both as “an individual” and as “the community”. We are a community of memory.

BIBLE STUDY WORKSHOPS are conducted on different topics or books of the bible, each of varying duration, on weekends or weekday nights.

Precept Upon Precept® (PUP) Bible Studies are in-depth, inductive studies in an easy-to-follow, daily format that takes approximately one hour per day.

Detailed course schedule

IN-DEPTH BIBLE STUDY GROUPS (DISCIPLE GROUPS) use the DISCIPLE bible study program, aimed at developing disciples through a disciplined study of the Bible. The study is conducted within the nurturing fellowship of a small group of believers committed to helping one another grow.

This programme has been offered within Methodist Churches (including TMC) for the past many years.

Those new to DISCIPLE will start with a DISCIPLE I Group (BECOMING DISCIPLE THROUGH BIBLE STUDY), a 34-week study of the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. All participants in DISCIPLE I will read more than 70% of the Bible. The Scripture for each session follows the chronological movement of the biblical story. Each DISCIPLE I group will meet weekly with a leader over 2-2.5 hours, for a period of 34 weeks. Each participant makes a commitment to daily preparation (30-45minutes per day) and weekly attendance and active participation in the group study sessions.

Those who have already completed DISCIPLE I can join in any of the following: DISCIPLE II (INTO THE WORD INTO THE WORLD), or DISCIPLE III (REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE), or DISCIPLE IV (UNDER THE TREE OF LIFE).

DISCIPLE II provides an in-depth study of Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts; DISCIPLE III considers the Prophets and the Letters of Paul; and DISCIPLE IV focuses on Old Testament Writings, the Gospel of John, the Epistles of John, James and Jude, and Revelation. DISCIPLE II, III and IV are each of 32-week duration, and each seeks to stretch participants in their commitment and challenge them in their discipleship.

We invite all interested to register for any of DISCIPLE I, II, III and IV and where enough participants enroll in any of these, we will begin the groups.

ADULT BIBLE CLASS (ABC) are held on a regular basis on Sundays from 10.15 to 11.15am on various topics. Each is offered as a series with a break after each series.
